How we create more meaningful conversations

Over the last few years my personal journey has become both a guide and a ‘testing ground’ for how I help my clients bring the human side to their financial planning. Recently, I spoke with Kate Holmes about some of the tools and qualifications that I have explored and obtained in order to do this.

In a nutshell, it’s focussed on the human side of money (without side-lining or devaluing the qualifications that make me professionally accountable and technically capable).

To this end, I committed to becoming the first Certified Financial Transitionist® in South Africa. Hopefully I won’t be the only one for long – it’s something I hope our profession will embrace even more!

After losing five clients in one year, all of them passing away and leaving their families in transition, I knew that financial planning simply had to go deeper in order for us to make it more meaningful and empower us to make a difference.
